On this video I show you how I make an apple pie from scratch on the grill. This recipe is easy to make and delicious. You can substitute making the pie dough for a store bought dough. But you should play with with different ingredients for the pie filling. Enjoy!
2 1/2 cups flour
1 Tbps sugar
¼ tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
½ cup cold butter unsalted
5-7 tbsp. water.
Mix and roll out to about 1/8 thick. Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
4 Fuji Apples peeled and quartered
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Freshly ground nutmeg, to taste
1 teaspoon salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp lemon zest with a little juice
1 tbsp. dark rum
¼ cup sugar
1 cup frozen raspberries
Form the pie dough to a pie pan. Add the filling. You can add the top pie dough to completely cover the pie or create a lattice crust. Brush on 1 beaten egg mixed with a tbsps. mile. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake on Grill Dome or in oven for approx. 45 minutes. Let cool.
