How To Use The Vortex Charcoal Grilling Accessory
One of the most useful and versatile accessories I’ve used for grilling and smoking on the Weber Kettle and other charcoal grills is the Vortex, which can be used in many configurations for various cooking methods which I demonstrate in this video.

That looks like a piece of equipment I'm going to have to purchase soon for my Weber. You really have figured out a lot of ways to use it. I'm really liking that beer can chicken set up as well as the wings configuration
First time I see you, I thought it was a great video, I subscribed
Great video man! Big help! Thank you!
Man I love your store !! I'm going to go crazy on there ! LoL, TY,,
Very informative and helpful video man, thanks so much!
Hello Ry, do you fully light your coals with the chimney starter or put them in about half way through into the Vortex? I just purchased a Vortex and seen your video. Thanks.
Can you smoke with that too?
Does this high concentration of directed heat ever damage the grill?
Got one for Christmas, thanks for the tips!
Hi Ry, I bought one of these last month and tried it yesterday for the first time. It didn't come even close to performing like yours and other videos I've watched, which of course was highly disappointing! the problem was I had left all of my vents open to ensure air flow, loaded it with limp charcoal and fired it up. It didn't seem to hold the level of heat I've seen everyone else get. After about 30 minutes I took the grate off and dumped the vortex and added more coals and finished the wings directly. The only thing I did different was I used lump charcoal. Any advice?!
SOLD!
What was that beer can chicken thing you were using? Looked like a big salt or pepper shaker.
Well I've used one for a month so far. This is feedback from camping with others. Marinated chicken breast strips: "Juiciest and best I've had". Ground beef sliders: "This is the best burger I've ever had". Atomic buffalo turds: "Holy shit, how did you do this?" So for me, this simple little device is a way useful tool to employ when high indirect heat is needed on my kettle. But I'm still working on the best chicken wings…
I ordered one of these a few days ago. Iām looking forward to trying it out when it arrives. š
I love it.You made the statement to try an make what works.I love it.Make it your way
Great video. I plan on getting a grill and vortex soon now that I've seen how flexible it is to cook with this methods.
Great and thank you!!! Very informative videos on your channel, Ry…. Learned quite a lot from your channel..
i have the vortex and i use it with my 26 inch weber and i love it
Hey Ry, great post, quick question, chicken better with your vortex set up or rotisserie?
How much charcoal in a chimney to start with for chicken thighs? Great video by the way!
I am really confused about the size as the Amazon link shows a medium but the first photo on your video shows a large. Really like your videos, please help.
Smokin video. Cheers.
Would this do instead of baskets? Love your videos
Any issues with that intense heat and the cooking grate directly above it? Seems like a lot of people use it on the 26" that has a removable middle circle.
Is this the 22 or 26 inch?
Thanks
