Cuisinart Griddler GR-4N 5-in-1 Review and Weeknight Meal Recipe

This is a review of the Cuisinart Griddler. The link to the Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler on Amazon.com: http://amzn.to/2skHZ6l It makes quick, complete weeknight meals.
Great countertop grill to cook quick and healthy meals. A little bigger than the George Foreman grill and has more features.

  • Oh boy I wish I bought this one instead of the gr-11 which doesn't have a flat plate on the other side of the plates.. I'm grilling my pancakes and they look like ruffles potato chips

  • Do you prefer this one or the Hamilton Beach searing grill with the window view?

  • There is a few design flaws with this device. If you plan on using this like a George Foreman grill, grease will drip off the top plate onto your counter when you open it. There needs to be some kind of ledge on the back of the bottom to direct the grease into the drip pan. If you only use the device as an open grill, griddle, or panini press this isn't a problem.

The second problem is there is no adjustment to stop the panini press from smashing your sandwiches flat. If you look at other panini presses there is a slider or knob that stops the press at different heights.

  • I bought one of these 3 years ago and forgot about it. I just now cooked my first burger and it might be best burger I ever made. Usually a just put a burger on the gas grill until its hell cooked. This burger was well cooked yet still juicy and uncharred.

  • I have this unit, I have used it very little over the years. But when I did want to use it the control knobs (Both) were failing. Would not heat, do not throw this unit away if you are handy and understand high voltage. Be certain it is unplugged from power. Remove the lower plate (4) screws you will find a set of electrical contact points for each control that will tarnish over time, light sanding and you will be back in business. The unit was designed well but the control contact points were not thought out. Be careful and enjoy this unit for a long time to come.

  • Hi. Do the grill and griddle sides heat up to set temps when fully open? Was reading some places that it doesn't heat as well as it should.

  • I have one and it seems like that when on griddle side both plates are not heated equally. Is it as pose to be like that? Or is something wrong? The grill sides do seem to heat evenlly to me. It's just the plates when they are on the griddle side that seem to be off

  • this is probably a dumb question, but what is the point of using the grill over the griddle?  Is it just to get the grill marks and that's it?

  • Love the Griddler as I have owned it for about a year now.  Just a quick comment on cooking with it.  It's easier and quicker to cook your meats (and recommended in the manual) with the top closed.  Chicken usually takes only about 7 to 8 minutes in the closed position.  While your chicken is cooling (meats are recommended to cool 10 minutes after removing) you can open it up completely and cook all your veggies at once and have them done and ready right about the time your chicken (or whatever your meat) is ready to serve.  Thanks for the great review.

  • Had my 5 in 1 for about a month. so far i have made burgers, panninis, and pork chop (bone in) i know the intructions say all meat should be bone out but  it works well on the pork chops and they were thick. my review is  this .. very handy very easy clean up  but not as much of a "grilled" flavor as i had hoped. maybe a drop or 2 of liquid smoke  would help.  panninis are great!
