My next door neighbor gave me this wild pork shoulder, and ask if I would cook it. If so, she would give me half of it, and I’m like: You Bet!!! So I have spent the last 3 days leaching the wild blood from this meat, and today was the time to prepare and cook it, and oh my goodness! I had no idea, that it would be this good! Not just saying this! It was trully some of the best pork that I have had in a long long time! I hope this video helps any hunters, preppers, or anyone else that wants a great way to cook wild hog.   • The best pork I have EVER EVER had was wild boar my ex father law had just brought back from a hunting trip in florida I think? I don't know how the meat was prepared prior to BBQ but it was out of this world delicious …just fell apart/melted in the mouth wonderful ….I imagine he paid some local expert to butcher and prep it….was flown back to southern california on private plane …

  • Yummy! You are correct. Some wild hogs are better than others. But, my favorite is a sow or young boar hog no bigger than about 120pds. That size is easier to handle and will fit most bigger smokers. And, if you can leave the skin on. The skin adds FLAVOR and keeps moisture inside. Scalding a hog is a job unto itself. Nothing beats the taste of wild hog prepared over a pit. Thanks for your video…now I'm going to have to hunt myself a hog to pit cook.

  • I like to do a little hog hunting down here in Florida in the Fall. I always wondered how do you get the blood out ? For a whole hog I guess you get a big enough cooler. But how much vinegar and lemon juice would you add ?

  • Does size have anything to do with the flavor, or is the secret leaving it in that ice water/lemon juice/ vinegar mix? My dad told me that hogs below 80 lbs are edible, but the huge ones are too greasy to eat. I was wondering this could be a way to get rid of the greasiness.

  • I do a marinade of Lime juice, Tony C's, coarse groung black pepper and Cayenne pepper.ย  Just fyi, if you want to try something else.
