    1 pinch black pepper
    20grams blue cheese

  • 4: 25 – I have attempted to make own bread several times and I have never, EVER gotten my dough to rise like that. It just kind of flattens out at the lip of the tin.

  • Sigh. Salt doesn't alter pH. The reason it isn't good for yeast is because it increases osmotic pressure. Stick to cooking bud.

  • I don't know if this would have impressed my nephew who was trying every restaurants grilled cheese… I don't know if he even still eats grilled cheese, but I DO know he was very particular the last time I took him out to eat. When he ordered grilled cheese, I thought "I know you have bread, butter, and cheese at home, this is a waste of money", but I didn't say anything because I was trying to get along with family. I'm not sure how it ranked in his head, but he ate it and so I was relieved. I'm still trying to get along with family, so I'll share this with his mom.

  • No, you can go one better. Add some cheese to the outside before flipping it and you get a cheese crust on the outside instead of just crispy bread.

  • It bothers me a little when Ben goes all 'geeky' and spouts inaccurate science. Salt is pH neutral, Ben!

  • The do all that and then Ben just hacks it in to rectangles like a psychopath. lol

  • I’ve watched this video SOOO many times over the past three years and it’s always the thumbnail that draws me in!!! But then I’m equally impressed with the simple goodness!

  • It turned out perfect, except the bread was over cooked and stuck to the pan. 😭

  • I was so surprised that they didn't use mayo for the outside of the bread. It sounds strange but once I actually tried it I've never gone back. Better crisping, less burning, and an incredibly subtle tang.

  • A local bakery carries a rosemary potato bread with bits of red potato in it. I use that and a havarti with dill to make my cheese sandwiches.

  • There's is no easier way to say: mike had two foodgasms. The first when he tasted the bread and the second while eating the cheese sandwich ; )

  • would be better if you leave that bread to get about a day old. Works better then..

  • I have never seen Mike so confused and lost as he was when Ben was making the bread haha

  • Somebody please revoke Ben's chef card. What kind of depraved individual cuts a sandwich horizontally?!

The grilled cheese looks delicious, though.

  • I’m a mayo-in-lieu-of-butter kind of guy, when it comes to grilled cheese(any pan fried sandwich). Whatchyall think?
