  • Hey Dede,
I'll be following your recipe above to make kabobs for my family next week. I'm trying to make the 7-spice for myself and the websites I looked at calls for fenugreek. I couldn't find any in my local grocery store but I looked online and it said you can replace fenugreek with fennel seed. Is this a good option or do you have any better substitutes? Some sites called for mustard powder as well.

  • Were you supposed to use juice from the lemon for the marinade also Usually it's part of it and I saw the lemon on your counter so I thought I'd ask to make sure I got the recipe correct. Thanks~

  • I had some beef kebabs tonight. Top sirloin, red & green peppers & red onions & mushrooms. I use soy sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder as a marinade. I was out of olive oil though. They were still good. I will seek out this "seven spices" compound and give it a try one day. Great vid!

  • Hi Dede thank you for all of your vidoes! I have been looking high and low for "7 Spice" to make some of your dishes at home. What exactly am I looking for and what can I use if I can't find something called "Seven Spice" I want it to be as close to yours as possible! I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. Is there a particular type of store I should try? OH! I also can not find pickled turnip ANYWHERE! How do I make them?

  • Yes you just need a high heat like 450. Just lay the skewers across a drip pan.
