Funnel Cake Grilled Cheese
Makes 2 sandwiches
Total time: 45 minutes
Active time: 40 minutes

Step 1: Funnel Cakes
* 1 quart vegetable oil
* 4 eggs
* 1 cup milk
* 2 Tbsp melted butter
* 1 ½ tsp salt
* 4 ounces shredded white cheddar
* 1 ½ cups flour
* 1 ½ tsp baking powder

1) Heat oil in a small, circular sauce pot until it reaches 375 degrees.

2) In one large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, shredded cheddar, milk, and melted butter. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and whisk thoroughly.

3) Use a silicone spatula to scrape the batter into a gallon ziploc bag then snip off a ½ inch hole. Hold the bag over the oil and gently squeeze to create an even stream of batter while moving the bag in a figure 8 motion until the surface area of the pot has been covered.

4) Fry for one minute then, very carefully, use a fork to flip the funnel cake over and fry for 30 seconds on the other side. Remove fro the oil then let drain on paper towels.

* Small sauce pot filled with oil
* Large clear bowl (x2)
* Whisk
* Silspat
* Ziplock bag (gallon)
* Scissors
* Fork
* Sheet pan lined with paper towels

Step 2: Strawberry Ketchup
* ½ cup water
* 1 Tbsp tomato paste
* 1 cup chopped strawberries
* ½ cup sugar
* 2 Tbsp white vinegar
* ¼ tsp ground ginger
* ⅛ tsp ground clove
* ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
* 1 tsp salt

1) Heat a small sauce pot on medium high heat. Add all ingredients to the pot, stir to combine, then allow to cook for 10 minutes while stirring.

2) When the strawberries have softened, add the mixture to a blender to puree, or use an immersion blender.

3) Continue to cook down while stirring for an additional 15 minutes, until the mixture has turned into a thick paste.

* Small saucepot
* Wooden spoon
* Stick blender
* Cutting board
* Chef knife

Step 3: Grill It
* 1 bowl sliced strawberries
* 4 funnel cakes
* ¼ cup strawberry ketchup
* 8 slices quality White American cheese (like Boar’s head)
* 2 Tbsp butter
* ¼ cup powdered sugar

1) Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Add two slices of white american cheese to the ugly side of each funnel cake (you’ll know which it is) then spread a healthy layer of strawberry ketchup on top of half the cheesed-up funnel cakes. Sandwich the funnel cakes together.

2) Heat ½ Tbsp butter in a pan on medium heat (or use a panini press if you have one!). When the butter is melted, add one sandwich to the pan, and use a spatula to press it all down. Flip after about 5 minutes, and continue to cook for an additional 4 on the other side. Remove from the pan and pop it in the oven for an additional 5 minutes just to melt the cheese

3) Please share it with your friends I’m pretty sure they will love it and if they don’t that’s ok because you tried your hardest and that’s what really matters.

* Spoon
* Pam
* Griddle
* Metal spatula
* Sheet pan with silpat underneath
* Knife for cutting
* Cutting board
* Sifter

  • If anyone could cashapp me a couple dollars…i haven't eaten today and I'm trying to get a couple sandwiches. God bless

  • Josh, my main man, ease up on the energy drinks. I need to put the video on half speed to keep up with how fast you’re talking in this episode ?

  • I miss read this as 'Funnel Cheese Cake'. Which would be awesome by the way…

  • Just might have to make this for my friends and I. Might try it with a beef Patty inside?

  • Get a quart container and put that gallon bag in there for loading bags of batter when you don't have any friends!

  • If you wanted to use this recipe to make sweet funnel cakes instead of cheesy ones what would you do?

  • Put the Bag inside of a vase or bowl and roll down the top or use a rubber band around the lip.

  • Baker tip!: An easy way to get batter into a bag is to put the bag into a cup and curl the zipper part over the rim of the cup and just spoon in your batter or frosting, whatever you need in the bag ??

  • Okay, now I'm starting to wonder. Someone said that Jen, Ellie, and Christine had left. But we've seen both Christine and Ellie on the show. So is Jen even really gone?

  • If you take a cup put the corner of the bag in and push it down with your hand and fold the rest over the cup to put it in the bag or use pipier bags and put it in the cup

  • Put the ziplock bag inside a cup and fold it down over the glass edge and fill it up.

  • okay story time: this one time I went to an un-named amusement park, smoked a BUNCH of hash with my friends mum, terrified myself to death on the roller coasters and then ate like a BUCKET of funnel cake and the mere thought of it makes me physically ill to this very day

  • First time on this channel. first impression is Josh is a buff nerd that cooks

  • I found that folding the seal of the ziplock bag backwards towards the outside of the bag helps keep the bag open to fill.

  • To put batter into a ziploc baggie by yourself, I like to use a large mug or stein. Push the baggie into the mug and then fold the top of the bag over the edges of the mug and pour. Might not be able to fit all your batter in at once, but I dont mind doing two rounds if needed (:

  • Yeah this is honestly gonna be one of the channels i binge and re watch, and will sooner or later copy the recipes make and sell them for profit, give back to make a wish, a send some money to this channel

  • Tip for the batter in the bag. Piping bag spread open in a bowl, add batter, tie up and cut the end!!

  • This looks amazing. Though, I think I will try a french toast grilled cheese instead. Love these videos though! They always make me want to cook new combinations.

  • I’ve waited for you to get your own show/series I’m super thrilled honestly

  • Dude surprise some smosh members with the food. I loved shayne being on food fears

  • When is the future fast food coming back?

  • #13 on "Trending" – anyone else think Josh won't be our Mythical chef for too much longer as he ends up elsewhere doing his thing, just bigger and e ven better-er?

  • 5:02 lost a little respect for the man. ketchup is the red devil sauce and should not be consumed by any one over the age of 14.

  • I was terrified at first thinking you were going to use an actual bottle of ketchup.

  • Josh just bare hands touching hot oily really puts fear into my bones. I drink my tea like 20 minutes after making it because it's too hot to drink

  • The fact that they reused a dead channel, already have a few hundred thousand followers and have consistently had this channels videos on the trending page alongside the two other GMM channels should tell you that the GMM team understands how to game YouTube's algorithm better than anyone else. Either that, or someone is dating someone important at YouTube.

    Also, don't think I'm taking away from this, he's awesome, super entertaining!
